The Glen Arbor Arts Center offers a new opportunity for families to create together this fall.
Celebrate the season with Fall Family Open Studio, a chance for families to explore new media as they create together. Instructor Sarah Cheek-Toomey introduces parents and children to botanical printmaking, still life painting, and creating shrunken apple heads. All materials are included in the fee: $15 per GAAC member family, $20 per nonmember family. Pre-registration is required by Friday, October 19. Children must be accompanied by a parent.
Sarah Cheek-Toomey holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education with a minor in Visual Arts from Michigan State University; and a Master of Science in Ecological Teaching and Learning from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She has spent the past 15 years in public education; mostly recently teaching elementary art while also serving as the Art Coordinator for Kalamazoo Public Schools.
