The Glen Arbor Arts Center offers several creative residencies each year. In cooperation with Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, participants use studio space at Thoreson Farm, a farmstead in the historic Port Oneida district of the National Lakeshore. Read More

Open Studio

This unstructured work time takes place in the GAAC’s classroom. The studio is open to visual artists of any ability looking for a place to work temporarily. Plein Air Weekend

Artists from across Michigan and throughout the Midwest register to participate in this three-day annual event, which has become one of Michigan’s largest and most popular Paint Outs. Read More


Manitou Music Festival poster competition

The Glen Arbor Arts Center invites artists to submit original paintings for the annual Manitou Music Festival poster competition. The limited edition posters are hugely popular and sold through the art association and selected shops and art galleries in Leelanau County.
