  • Basic Information

  • Residency Period

Which 2-week residency period do you prefer (it is to the applicant’s advantage to offer three choices)?
  • Past Application and/or Residency

  • Residency Proposal

More emphasis is placed on the information in your proposal than on the aesthetic qualities of your work. We are looking for well-crafted proposals that succinctly describe an action plan for the two-week residency; that illustrate your seriousness as an artist and your dedication to a creative practice. We are looking for candidates whose proposals clearly demonstrate they can hit the ground running on the first day of their residency.

NOTE: Many applicants express the feeling that the Glen Arbor/Sleeping Bear Dunes area is breathtaking in its natural beauty, that it is a source of artistic inspiration. We couldn’t agree more, however ……. Breathtaking inspiration is a sentiment, it is not a proposal for residency. Please answer the below questions in concrete terms.
