GAAA DINNER & Silent Auction at North Centennial Inn

June 25
Our annual benefit dinner and silent auction will take place on June 25 at the North Centennial Inn where we will enjoy a delicious four course meal and wine. Call GAAA for a reservation – all are welcome. The committee is seeking contributions to the silent auction. Please call Renie Cutler, 334-8052 if you would like to donate something. This is our largest fundraising event of the year. Let’s all meet at North and make it a spectacular evening.

Join Summer Singers

This will be the fifth summer for the Art Association’s Summer Singers, directed by Dick DeVinney. Everyone is welcome to sing - adults and teenagers, experienced singers and beginners. Come once or twice, or come every time. The music is challenging and rewarding. Last year 60 people participated. The choir meets every Tuesday June 17 to August 12. Rehearsals are from 7-9 pm at the Community Reformed Church in Burdickville. Questions: e-mail Dick DeVinney dickmarion@aol.com or call 231-334-7695. Otherwise, just show up at the church on a Tuesdays.
 
There will be concert for the public on Tuesday, August 12 at 7:30 PM at the Glen Lake Community Reformed Church in Burdickville.

Dunes Review Reading

July 1
The Dunes Review will be holding a reading at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 1 at the Glen Arbor Art Association. The 2008 issue features Humor, with the poetry of Al Bona, fiction from Todd Mercer, and art work from Tim Neilsen. Join us for laughs and snacks. Additional information at hshaw@chartermi.net

Pottery Open House

July 2
Visit Thoreson Farm Wednesday, July 2nd, 6:30-8:30 PM for a look at our clay program. John Huston, Potter-In-Residence will demonstrate what is offered in our classes. Wheel throwing, extruding, and hand-building will be explained and visitors can enjoy a brief hands-on experience at the wheel, make a slab, or extrude a cylinder!  All are welcome to attend this free family event.

Come to Port Oneida Fair

August 8 & 9
The GAAA will host events at Thoreson Farm during the Port Oneida Fair (POF) August 8 and 9 where artists will demonstrate various crafts.  The POF is an annual event hosted by the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore which showcases the rural historic district's farmsteads, with culturally relevant exhibits and demonstrations.
