Port Oneida Fair Closing Concert
Don’t miss this special concert which serves as a Manitou Music Festival closing event for the Port Oneida Fair, the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore’s celebration of rural cultural and arts!
Nobody’s Darlin’ are a perfect fit to close out the 2007 Port Oneida Fair. This all-girl string band based in Grand Rapids, MI specializes in Old Timey, Bluegrass, Gospel and throws in some classic country tunes just for fun.
Watching a performance by Nobody’s Darlin’ conjures up the essence of a simpler time, before electric guitars and pyrotechnics. The sound of Nobody’s Darlin’ strong female voices meld fluidly over acoustic instruments that resonate true string instrument tones.
The Darlin’s influences include The Carter Family, Doc Watson, Johnny Cash, Ernest Tubb, Split Lip Rayfield, Dolly Parton, Jimmie Rogers, Oh Brother where art Thou?, The Meat Purveyors, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, The Bad Livers.
