Alexandance
Established in September 2006, alexandance is collaboration
between Alexandra (Zan) Burley and Alexander (Alex)
Springer. The duo met at the University of Michigan
while studying Dance and found that their similar movement
quality, desire to create, and natural friendship made
a perfect match. Zan is a nearly graduated Ohio
native studying both dance and English literature.
She has been dancing since the age of seven and still
going strong. She has produced, choreographed,
and performed in four shows this past year, including
her BFA concert and Tied, a collaborative evening-length
compilation of work by alexandance. Alex is originally
from Farmington Hills, MI and is studying Movement Science
in conjunction with dance. In their time at the University
of Michigan together they have performed for renowned
artists like Alexandra Beller, Leyya Tawil, and Doug
Varone. They have also performed with the Umbigada Dance
Company in Colombia and the Leopold Group in San Francisco.
