The Fundamentals: Drawing and Painting Trees

How to make trees look solid and growing! Students will create tree canopies, trees that have dropped their leaves, and trees that have needles. They will add texture and form using drawing materials, watercolor, and/or acrylics.

Mary Guntzviller has been teaching art since 1993. She has a BFA from Wayne State University and has been a professional artist since 1988. Mary is the illustrator of McGillcutty, A Very Special Bear, a children’s book released In Dec. 2014. She won 1st place at the GAAA 2012 Paint Out and 2nd place at the Traverse City Botanical Gardens Paint-Out in 2013. Her paintings have been accepted at the Michigan Watercolor Society and are displayed in private and public collections throughout the United States. guntzviller.com
