Readers’ Theater: Remember The Night
The Glen Arbor Arts Center Readers’ Theater presents Remember The Night, a tale of petty larceny, redemption and Cupid just doing his job in time for the holidays. Readers’ Theater performs the play on December 8 and December 9, 2017, 7:30 p.m. at the Glen Lake Community Reformed Church, 4902 W. MacFarlane Road in Burdickville.
Remember The Night is a love story that starts in a court of law. It’s a heartwarming Christmas-time show that skillfully blends touching drama with comedy. Moved to pity by the Christmas season, New York District Attorney John Sargent lets pretty shoplifter Lee Leander out on bail and offers her a ride home to Indiana. They end up meeting each others’ parents, and then Cupid becomes judge and jury. The 1940’s film version was written by playwright Preston Sturges, who elevated the romantic, screwball comedy genre to new levels of intelligence and maturity; and starred Fred MacMurray and Barbara Stanwyck.
Reservations are not required, but are encouraged, and can be made by emailing: [email protected]. Remember The Night is offered without charge. For more information call 231/334-6112.
