“Let it Snow” for Young Children
January 16 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 10:00am on Tuesday, repeating until January 30, 2018
The forecast calls for some winter art weather for kids ages 1-5 and their parents/caretaker. “Let It Snow,” a series of four, Tuesday morning sessions in January, explores the winter through simple and fun creative projects.
Classes are 90 minutes and include a snack. Each session starts with a short discussion, a story, then interactive, hands-on project. Parents and children will work together to make and take home a piece of artwork each week.
Classes are: January 9: Let’s Make a Snowman Sculpt your own mini- snowmen without freezing your fingers! Everyone will make and take home their own batch of snow dough. We’ll also take a closer look at snowflakes and make some of our own.
January 16: Feeding our Winter Friends This week we will think about how animals find food in the winter time. We will make bird feeders as well as snacks for some furry friends.
January 23: Our Own Winter Wonderland Who showed up at your bird feeder? Who ate your snacks? In this class we will talk about the animals who live in our winter wonderland. We will make snow globe homes for our favorite winter animals. We’ll also take a closer look at snowflakes and make some of our own.
January 30: Snowy Owls Has anyone see a Snowy Owl? Did you know they are here to visit us this winter? We will learn a little bit about them then sew our own owls. We’ll also make a little habitat for them.
