Evocative Nature: Writing in Response to Wildness
Join award-winning poet and teaching artist, Holly Wren Spaulding, for a day-long poetry writing workshop in which we’ll consider the natural world and our place within it by using creative exercises to tune our awareness to the parklands that surround our studio, learning from the likes of Corman, Niedecker, Hirschfield and Basho. Bring a notebook, and join the conversation about how to respond as writers and nature lovers, to our beautiful and changing natural environment.
Holly Wren Spaulding is a writer, teacher, and editor, and received degrees in literature and creative writing from University of Michigan and Trinity College, Dublin. Her poems and articles have appeared in Michigan Quarterly Review, Witness, The Nation; her most recent collection of poems is Pilgrim (Alice Greene & Co., 2014). She’s also a member of the creative writing faculty at Interlochen College of Creative Arts. She lives in western Massachusetts where she runs Poetry Forge and co-directs STORYhouse Partners with her husband, author Matt Rigney. HollyWrenSpaulding.com
