Opportunities for Artists

This year's GAAA Paint Out weekend will again feature two opportunities for plein air artists. The long popular all day Paint Out will be held on Saturday, August 3 and is again limited to 60 artists. A Quick Draw will kick off the weekend on Friday, August 2nd. The theme of this year's quick draw is "Artists Paint the Town", held in downtown Glen Arbor. There is no limit on number of participants for the Quick Draw.

Glen Arbor Art Association members will be given first opportunity to register. Advance registration for 2013 GAAA members closes on Monday, March 18. General registration will open Tuesday, March 19. Since, the Saturday Paint Out is limited to 60 artists it fills quickly. Registrations will be honored by post mark date, on-line registration date, or date delivered in person. Advance registration is not necessary for the Quick Draw but note the early registration discount.

Artists in Residence
The Glen Arbor Art Association offers several creative residencies each year. In cooperation with Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, participants use studio space at Thoreson Farm, a farmstead in the historic Port Oneida district of the National Lakeshore.

The Glen Arbor Art Association invites members to have exhibitions during week-ends in July and August. Each artist hosts a Friday night reception and holds week-end gallery hours. Applications for 2013 shows are now being accepted. Click here for application process.

Call for Art - GAAA Member Show

The 2013 Leelanau Fall for Art Gallery Tour will be October 11-13. Glen Arbor Art Association will host a member exhibition at the GAAA. This annual GAAA event provides the opportunity to showcase the artistic talent of our members. Watch for details.
