be viewed Monday-Friday 8:00-1:00.

Enjoy a collection of images from the Leelanau area and other West Michigan locations by award-winning photographer Stacy Niedzwiecki . Her fascination with nature's beauty has found its way through the camera lens, earning awards in many art and photography competitions. Her work has been featured in the Michigan 24/7 photography book, Whisper in the Woods Nature Journal, and the Explore St. Louis Official Visitors' Guide.

 

Awards and accomplishments include:

•  Grand Rapids First United Methodist Church Celebration of the Arts – People's Choice Award, February 2008

•  Glen Arbor Art Association - Artist in Residence Program, October 2007

•  Eastern Townships of Kent County Photo Show - Honorable Mention Recipient, September 2007

•  Whisper in the Woods Nature Journal Pure Michigan Governor's Edition, July 2007

•  Newaygo County Council for the Arts Statewide Photography Competition - Honorable Mention Recipient, May 2007

 

July 25 & 26       Morgan Fisher – BIRDS: Prints and Paintings

Morgan Fisher's love for nature and her interest in multi-cultural art influences her subject matter and style. Her background includes:

•  Studied liberal arts and visual arts at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon

•  Holds a BFA from the University of Utah with concentration in printmaking and painting

.  

Aug 1 & 2               Eve Reid - Paper Paintings

Opening reception – 6:00-9:00 pm

Gallery hours – 12:00-5:00 pm

 

Eve Reid's summers are spent at Lake Michigan on in Northern Michigan and this is the strongest influence for her work.  Her impressionistic landscapes capture the essence of time passing and document her intuitive responses.  Her handmade paper paintings are created with fine veils of pigmented paper pulp on a newly made sheet.

 

Eve Reid's background includes:

•  Recently retired from Western Michigan University's School of Art

•  Established the Papermaking area at the Kalamazoo Institute of Art

•  Founded the Handmade Paper Guild of Southwestern Michigan

•  Teaches workshops and exhibits widely.

 

Aug 15 & 16  Jane Batteiger, VIEWS OF LANDSCAPE PAINTINGS: landscape paintings

I have the privilege of living in this beautiful area.   I have developed a deep appreciation

for the natural beauty that surrounds me in Leelanau County.   My goal as an artist is to capture and preserve the images that make this very special place so spectacular.

 

Jane's background includes:

•  BS degree in art  from the University of Wisconsin

•  President of the Glen Arbor Art Association

•  Work has been exhibited at the Glen Lake Artist's Gallery for seven years

•  She participates in many local shows in the area

•  Her work has been accepted in numerous juried shows

•  Paintings are in many private collections   and public buildings
